RE46C163器件是一种低功耗CMOS电离型烟雾探测器IC。由于很少有外部组件，该电路将提供电离型烟雾探测器所需的所有功能。内部振荡器每1.67秒对烟雾探测电路的电源进行10.5毫秒的选通，以将待机电流保持在最低限度。在待机状态下，每40秒检查一次电池电量是否不足。外部引脚可选择连续音调或NFPA时间喇叭模式。互连引脚允许连接多个检测器，因此当一个单元报警时，所有单元都会发出声音。当退出本地警报时，电荷转储功能将快速释放互连线。互连输入也经过数字滤波。内部1分钟计时器允许单个按钮按下测试，用于降低灵敏度模式。报警记忆功能允许用户确定装置之前是否已进入本地报警状态。
