The LT®8638-2 synchronous step-down regulatorfeatures the Silent Switcher® architecture designed tominimize EMI emissions while delivering high efficiencyat high switching frequencies. This performance makesthe LT8638-2 ideal for noise sensitive applications andenvironments.
The fast, clean, low overshoot switching edges enablehigh efficiency operation even at high switchingfrequencies, leading to a small overall solution size.Peak current mode control with a 25ns minimum ontimeallows high step down ratios even at high switchingfrequencies. External compensation through the VC pinallows for fast transient response. PolyPhase operationallows multiple LT8638-2 regulators to run withinterleaving phase shift to provide more output current.
Burst Mode operation enables low standby currentconsumption, forced continuous mode can controlfrequency harmonics across the entire output loadrange, or spread spectrum operation can further reduceEMI emissions. Soft-start and tracking functionality isaccessed through the SS pin, and an accurate inputvoltage UVLO threshold can be set using the EN/UV pin.
